Project Initiation Blueprint
Statement
of Purpose
Motto
“Lending a hand to the little man.”
Our
motto was selected because our organization, Boys Town, is dedicated to putting
structure back into the youth of today. The programs offered at Boys Town here
in Central Florida provide children with the assistance they need to overcome
obstacles they face in their home life. Our group (Go Getters) felt that our
motto was appropriate for this organization because it showcases that Boys Town
strives to make a difference our community.
What Motivated You to Choose
This Particular Project?
The
team Go Getters was adamant about choosing a project that would strongly impact
children of the central Florida community.
Boys Town meets our desired criteria because it is an organization
driven to changing lives and promoting structure. By fundraising to support Boys Town we
effectively will be helping the organization strengthen children and families,
provide a stable environment for youth, as well as offer “life-changing care.” Thus the desire to assist an organization
that promotes all of the previously mentioned ideas is fulfilled by selecting
the “Boys Town” project.
Initial Impression of Client
and Organization
The initial impression of Terry Knox of Boys Town was
that he was a man motivated with the cause of helping children in need. Terry
Knox expressed the importance of communication with all parties throughout the
project. He informed up with a history of the founder and organization as well
as what Boys Town stands for today in Central Florida; the organization is not
just about saving children, but also healing families.
Our team will add value to the goals of Boys Town because
we will give back. We plan on raising funds through activities which will then
be given back to the organization through an event for the children of Boys
Town. While meeting our monetary goals, we will also be promoting the cause and
educating the public about the Boys Town organization.
Vision of Completed Successful
Project
At
the completion of this project we will have met our goal of raising one
thousand dollars for Boys Town. In order to achieve our goals the team must
demonstrate characteristics that will aid in the completion of our teams
objectives. The team must stay focused and be persistent on managing our time
with scheduled events along with team meetings. Also we must work and
communicate in a professional manner which will allow us to overcome any
obstacles.
The
funds raised will provide for an activity for the Boys Town residents and
staff. We will be able to interact with the children while exposing them to a
fun and enjoyable event.
Role of Lab Instructor
As
a group, we expect our lab instructor to fill the role of mentor and
“cheerleader.” As we begin this experience we know there will most likely
be some speed bumps along the way. In other words, there will be issues
that perhaps we might not have any idea how to confront. It is in these
instances we will look to our lab instructor for guidance. We know that
this project is meant to be a learning experience for each of us and that there
are some things we will have to work through together as a team. However,
we feel it is important to have the support and direction of our lab instructor.
She can meet these expectations by making herself available to us, being ready
and eager to answer any questions we might have, providing viable feedback on
our ideas and objectives, but perhaps more importantly by simply encouraging us
to succeed. This we feel, is the role of our lab instructor for the
duration of this project.
